our story

Allen Creek Community Church was started in 1995 in a North Marysville living room with nothing but a Bible, 15 people, and a vision to create a missional church for the unchurched.

Meet Our Staff

The Early Years

After one year of developing leaders, small groups, weekly worship and some infrastructure, we started our very first Connection service on September 29, 1996 – a weekly inviting-event designed to present the claims of Christ in a creative, accessible and challenging way. 70 people showed up to hear our first series ever: “Dear God, Save Me From Your Followers.” People soon realized there was something a little bit different about us.

Since then, many things have changed around AC3 except for our Mission and Vision: to create a safe place where every seeker in Snohomish County can become a fully devoted follower of Christ; this has never wavered. We’ve seen over 300 previously unchurched adults follow Jesus into baptism. Over two decades, those very souls have launched ministries to serve seekers, the needs of our city, and the poor, both here and around the world!

The AC3 Heron

Why is the Heron hidden in plain sight all around AC3? Well, real Blue Herons inhabit the banks of Allen Creek, which runs through our church’s mission field. But more significantly we noted that the Heron is a great fisherman – and Jesus calls his followers to be “fishers of men”. We call people into the Kingdom of God and “catching” people – seeing true life change as God’s grace takes hold of a person – is what we’re all about.

The Heron is also a very patient fisherman. Patience defines HOW we like to catch people at AC3. We want to be patient; patient with people’s questions, with their doubts and hang-ups, creatively, lovingly communicating God’s grace until the day they respond in faith. That’s why you see the Heron so much at AC3 – so next time you’re around the building, see how many Hidden Herons you can count!
