Holiday
Schedule for Kreek Kids
During this holiday
season, our Saturday and Sunday children's programs are
being modified to match a growing trend in the upcoming
generation; a trend where families attend multi-age group events and services
together. We will be providing child care and simple programs
for preschoolers and younger but our K-5th graders will be
attending services in the auditorium or in our FX
Room with their families. Services on
Dec.
22/23 & 30th will be family friendly.
Candlelight services will be held during Community services
(Dec.
22/23 - Sat. 5:30 PM
& Sun. 9 AM) followed by a humorous drama
presentation called Stuffed Inn during our Connection services (Dec.
22/23 - Sat. 7 PM
& Sun. 10:30 AM). Invites
can be found in the lobby along with FREE Christmas coloring
books for families. These coloring books have Candlelight and
STUFFED INN invites 'ready to be colored' inside!
On the weekend of Dec. 29/30, there
is only ONE service —
Sunday 12/30 @ 10:30 AM. During this special ‘Thank
God We’re Here’ service, families are encouraged to bring in
items collected for the homeless during this cold season and
watching a special video presentation (featuring Bono) that will
challenge us as we consider our local and global impact as a
church heading into the New Year. The FX
Room and nursery will be
open for family use.

Lights,
Camera, Christmas
On December 7th, families and friends gathered to
participate in one of our Kreek Kids
outreach events. This annual event
included a play performed by kids, music by kids, crafts
for kids and a take home goodie bag for kids. The event
is designed to make it easy to invite friends and family
while sharing the Good News
that Christ and the Christmas season brings.
This
year’s play was called “Lights, Camera, Christmas!”
written by our own Brandi O'Haegher. It was a play about
a play. Johnathan, a director whose last show was a
complete flop, tried to make a play about the Christmas
story, but had totally lost the spirit and message of
Christmas. He was more worried about the success and
greatness of his play rather than the greatness that can
only be found in the true meaning of Christmas. With a
big name movie star like Vince Christiansen who stirred
up
jealousy, sleeping donkeys, a sneezy Wiseman and a flock
of sheep that became star struck; it seemed as though
the Christmas message would be lost forever. But in the
end,
Johnathan, realized this important message...we can't
truly experience Christmas without Jesus!

|
 |
Our kids
practiced their acting skills for hours and it showed in
the play's finale performance! |
 |
Other
highlights of the event included our RYM youth band who
led a couple Christmas carols, a preschool class presentation
of "Away in the Manger", Tracy Blake on the guitar and 7th
grader Mandy Henrichsen sang the
traditional carol, "What Child is This?"
Special thanks to Trina
Perry and a group of parents who were
behind-the-scene volunteers who helped pull it all
together!

Team for events such as this, please contact

OH
VALENTINE...
What Does Love
mean?
Answers by
4 to 8 year olds. |
When
you love someone, your eyelashes go up and down and
little stars come out of you.
Karen - 7 |
Love
is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on
shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.
Karl - 5 |
Love
is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she
takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure it
tastes okay.
Danny - 7 |
Love
is like a little old woman and a little old man who
are still friends even after they know each other so
well.
Tommy - 6 |
Love
is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still
says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.
Chris - 7 |
When
someone loves you, the way they say your name is
different. You know that your name is safe in their
mouth.
Billy - 4 |
I
know my sister loves me because she gives me all her
old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.
Lauren - 4 |
You
really shouldn't say, 'I love you' unless you mean it.
But if you mean it, you should say it a lot.
People forget.

God's Top 10

Why not take a few
minutes to review God's
Rules in Motion as a family again?
We learned these simple finger motions last spring in one of
our K-5th Workshops.
You won't find an easier way to remember God's Rules. Have fun!
